Before you purchase your Shipping Container Code images, you must have a UPC or EAN for the product.

A Shipping Container Barcode (also known as a Shipping Container Code, Shipping Container Symbol or a GTIN-14)  is used on the outside of your master cartons and recommended or required by many mid-to-large retailers who have automated their incoming inventory processes.

The UPC Shipping Container Symbol is very similar to the Universal Product Code. This symbology used is called an interleaved 2 of 5 (ITF). The major difference between this barcode and a UPC barcode are the lines around the barcode graphic. These are called Bearer Bars. The Barcode is comprised of 4 groups. 1) – Packaging Indicator. You can select any number you want between 0 to 7 for the first digit. If you have a container that has 12 units inside and another container that has 36 units inside, you will assign different numbers to each.  This is very flexible. Please note, we do not recommend using zero as a packaging indicator as it may cause confusion with the UPC used for the products inside. 2) The next number is ZERO. This is required. 3) The next 11 digits are the first 11 digits from the UPC barcode used for the item inside. 4) The final (14th digit) is a check digit….we create this with our softwareWhen you order, you will be prompted to add the pacaging indicator and your 12-digit UPC. ISBN Barcodes are used for books. We provide the following file types by digital download: Scalable vector SVG, JPG and vector PDF. Choose from the following sizes:

• 5" x 1.00"
• 1.5" x 0.80"
• 1.5" x 0.70"
• 1.5" x 0.50"
• 1.3" x 0.70"
• 1.3" x 0.60"
• 1.3" x 0.50"

An ISBN+5 is comprised of two sections, the ISBN 13-digit barcode and the pricing suffix.

Enter your ISBN number into the first entry box and then add your pricing information into the second box.

This is how the add-on barcode works The add-on is the price of the book. a book that sells for $99.99 or less will have the number 5XXXX (X = the price of the book, if $9.99 or less, the first X will be a zero). Books that sell for more than $100.00 will be represented by 59999.
